Recruiters contact MCTFR participants for follow-up assessments, persuade them to re-visit the study, enroll new participants, and schedule participants for assessments. They handle correspondence and coordinate all details related to the participant visits, ensuring that participation goes smoothly and is enjoyable and informative.
Interviewing/Assessment: Every time a twin, sibling, or parent participates in our study, they are interviewed by well-trained staff members with bachelor's or master's degrees in a health-related field, supervised by a Ph.D.-level psychologist. The interviews consist of questions regarding important events that have occurred in each person's life, achievement tests, measures of family and social functioning, personality, interests, and more.
Information Systems & Data Management: Data Managers monitor the integrity and security of the Center’s information systems and are responsible for the organization, coding, quality assurance, storage, and retrieval of the data collected from our participants and their families. In addition to traditional data entry services, DM staff develop and maintain the complex data, information, and participant relationship management applications that support data collection and analysis.
NeuroHealth Technicians are trained phlebotomists who work across multiple currently funded projects collecting MRI imaging data as well as lab-related data. The Center’s labs can involve collecting anthropometric data, or various body measurements, genetic and hormone saliva, hair samples and blood samples. NeuroHealth Technicians also collect neurocognitive data. At past visits, NeuroHealth Technicians, then called psychophysiologists, collected various physiological signals including eye movements, skin conductance, heart rate, pulse, brain waves, blood pressure, and muscle movements. NeuroHealth Techs also worked with SIBS families during their family interaction tasks.
