Co-Investigator Irene Elkins Ph.D., a clinical psychologist, has
expertise in clinical psychology and psychopathology research. Her
primary research interests include genetic and environmental
contributions to risk for substance abuse, with an emphasis on the
respective roles of personality, attention-deficit/hyperactivity
disorder (ADHD), and conduct disorder in affecting risk. Dr. Elkins
also supervises the clinical interviewing staff, designs and revises our
clinical interview and questionnaire measures, and monitors the quality of
interview data collection to ensure standardized procedures are followed.
