DIRECTIONS TAKING I-35W

From the North – Take 35W Southbound to the 4th St./University Ave. Exit (Exit Number 18)(this exit remains open) Turn left/East onto University Ave. Follow University Ave approximately eight blocks to 17th Ave. (which turns into Church St.). Turn right at 17th Ave. Church Street Garage is 1 ½ blocks down on the right hand side of the street.

From the South – Take 35W Northbound until you reach the U of M/3rd St Exits (Exit 17C). Stay to the right and use the U of M East Bank Exit onto Washington Ave.  You will cross the Washington Ave bridge into campus. At the third stoplight after the bridge take a left onto Harvard St. SE. Follow Harvard St. (it curves around the Washington Ave parking ramp- DO NOT park here) and stay to the right -at the stop sign take a right onto Union St. Follow Union St. until you reach the stop sign at Church St. Take a left onto Church St. The parking garage will be on your right hand side.

 

DIRECTIONS TAKING HWY 169

From the North – Take 169 South to I- 94 East.  From there follow the directions using “I-94 coming from the west”.

From the South – Take 169 North, take the I-494 E/MN 5 E ramp toward FRONTAGE RD., merge onto I-494 E.  Next, exit onto I-35W going north.  From there follow the directions for 35W from the south.

DIRECTIONS TAKING I-94

From the East (St. Paul): Take  94 West to Huron Blvd. (Exit Number 235B). Cross Washington and turn Left at University Ave. (there is construction in this area due to the Gopher Football Stadium). Follow University (it will curve to the right and become 4th St.) Follow 4th St. (you will pass between Mariucci Hockey Arena and Williams arena). Take 4th St. approximately 3 blocks to 17th Ave. (which turns into Church St.). Turn left at the stoplight on 17th Ave. Cross University Ave. Church St. Garage is 1 ½ blocks down on your right.

From the West (Minneapolis): Take 94 East to Huron Blvd. (Exit Number 235B). Cross Washington and turn Left at University Ave. (there is construction in this area due to the Gopher Football Stadium). Follow University (it will curve to the right and become 4th St.) Follow 4th St. (you will pass between Mariucci Hockey Arena and Williams arena). DIRECTIONS TAKING 35E

From the North – Take 35E South and merge onto I- 94 West.  From there follow directions for I-94 from the east.

From the South – Take 35E North and merge onto I- 94 West.  From there follow directions for I-94 from the east.

 

As you exit the garage after your visit, please tell the attendant that you have a parking reservation with the Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research. 

We have reserved you parking at the Church Street Garage located on the University of MN East Bank campus.  This garage is underground and accommodates vehicles with 7’or less clearance.  Even if the ramp signs reads “FULL,” parking has been reserved for you.  Take a parking ticket as you enter the garage. You may park in any available space.


 WALKING DIRECTIONS FROM CHURCH STREET GARAGE TO ELLIOTT HALL

When you come out of Church St. Garage, you’ll want to walk behind Church St. Garage west toward Northrop Auditorium (see campus map).  Northrop is on the main campus Mall.  Walk up the set of steps to the Mall.  Continue walking west across the Mall in front of Northrop Auditorium to the set of steps that go down on the other side of Northrop.  Continue walking to the street, which is Pleasant St.  Cross Pleasant Street.  You’ll see Wulling Hall and Elliott Hall beyond.  Elliott Hall is a dark red, modern building.  There is a large oak tree in front.  Turn right after you have entered the building.  Go to the end of the hall and turn left to get to the elevators.  GO TO THE 5th FLOOR.
